Robert Loewe studied Medicine at the University of Vienna, Austria. He received his training in Dermatology and Dermatopathology at the Department of Dermatology, University of Vienna, Austria (Head: Prof. Klaus Wolff, MD, FRCP and Prof. Hubert Pehamberger, MD).
In 2007, he was promoted to Professor and Senior Consultant at the Department of Dermatology, Medical University of Vienna, Austria.
He gained scientific experience at various research institutes at home and abroad, for example at the laboratory of endothelial cell biology at the Dept. of Dermatology, Medical University of Vienna, the Dept. of Dermatology, University of California San Francisco, CA and at the Dept. of Pathology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.
He is head of the special clinic for rare skin cancers and takes care of patients with cutaneous malignancies like leiomyosarcoma, angiosarcoma or Merkel cel carcinoma. He is also specialized in the early recognition, diagnosis and therapy of Melanoma and other non-melanoma skin cancers. Additionally, he has special knowledge in the diagnosis and therapy of inflammatory skin diseases in children as well as in adults (Atopic Dermatitis, Autoimmune Diseases, Acne, Psoriasis). He is also jointly responsible for the Dermatopathology program at the Department.
In 2010 he worked as Senior Medical Consultant for the Al Ain Hospital in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
